MV Agusta’s Brutale models are bikes that will get attention wherever you take them. The Italians know design, from clothing and architecture to automobiles and the Brutale is a fine example of sleek, minimalist beauty on two wheels.

Known as a “naked” for its bare bones styling, the Brutale is free of farings that would otherwise hide the beauty of the bike. Add a beautifully sculpted tank, comfortable saddle, exposed triple exhaust and a minimalist trellis frame and you have a motorcycle that is literally saying, “Look at me!” Aesthetically, motorcycles don’t get any more breathtaking than the Brutale RR, which is literally a rolling piece of art.

Exclusive to this edition of the Brutale 800 RR is the official collaboration between MV Agusta and the British Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton. This is the third LH44 edition highlighting the partnership between Hamilton and the Castiglioni Research Center (CRC), the other two being the Dragster 800 RR LH44 and the F4 LH44.

The bold and beautiful black and red color scheme sports several exclusive touches, including red anodized aluminum brake and clutch levers as well as fluid caps and clutch guard. Red aluminum alloy rims and forks follow the red livery though the wheels and body of the bike. The Alcantara natural leather saddle is also red and black. Adding another visual treat is the white TIG-welded, hand built CrMo steel trellis frame.

Specific exclusivity comes in the Lewis Hamilton lettering on both sides of the back fender, red LH44 lettering and red stripes on the tires and a serial number on the carbon fly screen. This model is limited to just 144 units.

The Brutale 800 RR LH44 also boasts limited edition materials and components, exclusive to this model, including specifically designed carbon fiber components and a heat resistant ceramic-based coating.

Technically speaking, the Brutale RR is quite impressive. It is powered by an 800 (798) cc engine and supported by some innovative gadgetry. Like its Italian competitor, Moto Guzzi, the MV Agusta employs ride-by-wire technology for better fuel efficiency and control. Riders can choose between Sport, Normal and Rain maps as they see fit. The transmission boasts what some claim to be the best shift-assist on the market today, the EAS 2.0, that provides the rider with flawless shifting through a system that is generally used only on racing bikes. Including this feature on their street bikes is more than a luxury as it adds extra control and confidence. The Brutale RR also uses an exclusive traction control system that offers eight different levels of intervention.

MV Agusta worked hard to improve the performance of their signature 3-cylinder engines to meet new emissions compliance rules. The Euro 4 certification allowed the company to make some significant improvements without compromising the power, integrity and engineering of their motorcycles. The final result is a testament to the company’s excellent engineers and designers as the new emissions regulations called for drastically reduced gas and noise emissions, which the company achieved by 50 percent and 48 percent respectively.

Brembo brakes are supported by a Bosch 9 Plus ABS system and pack quite a necessary punch. Although the bike is relatively easy to handle, it is not recommended for new riders. The Brutale RR is best ridden by intermediate to experienced riders who can hone their already existing skills while enjoying the brute force of this very powerful motorcycle. The Brutale RR promises eye-watering speed and exhilaration, making it best suited to open roads over stifling freeways. Suspension is handled by Marzocchi in front and Sachs in the rear, both fully adjustable. The comfort and safety is enhanced by a manageable weight of just 379 pounds (wet).

The Brutale RR is both intuitive and agile, making it perfect for getting out onto twisty mountain roads where it handles itself stealthily. This motorcycle pushes the boundaries of technology, speed and power. With improved and increased horsepower, riders will experience a thrill unlike anything previously imagined. This bike is bound to draw the attention of riders and non-riders alike, so be prepared to answer a lot of questions and requests for photos.
